About this Workshop
The NECTAS Workshop on Web based Training is an online, facilitated training program, including weekly readings and activities,
links to other resources, and supplementary materials.
The workshop is six weeks in duration and each of the weekly sessions should take 3 hours to complete.
The workshop sessions are posted on Sunday night each week. Every session includes an introduction by one of the facilitators, Nancy,
followed by a series of instructional screens, practice activities, popup tips, links to glossary terms.

At the end of each session, participants will submit an evaluation electronically to the facilitator.

Hardware/Software Requirements for Windows/PC Systems
- Minimum: 486 66-MHz system, 16MB of RAM, color monitor
- Recommended: Pentium 100-MHz system, 32MB of RAM, color monitor
- 5-7 MB free disk space on C drive
- Recommended browsers: Netscape Navigator, version 4.5 or greater, or Internet Explorer, version 4.01 or greater
- QuickTime Version 2.0 or greater
- Adobe Acrobat Reader Version 3.0 or greater
- RealAudio G2
- Shockwave
- Flash

Setup Recommendations for all computer systems
- Close all open applications. This will help conserve system resources.
- Minimize unwanted toolbars and status bars on the browser to increase the display area.
- Set your video monitor display properties to High Color (16 bit or greater) and set your desktop area to 800 by 600 pixels or above.

Exiting the Workshop
You may exit the workshop by closing the browser window. To return to the workshop,
you must log back in at the workshop Welcome Page. Your password will allow access to
the workshop for six weeks.
Important: Before exiting, record your place in the workshop, including the
session name and subtitle. When you log back in,
use the navigation buttons to return to the place you exited.
Frequently Asked Questions
This particular help feature is not completely finished because as questions about any aspect of this course arise,
we will post the most frequently asked ones, with an answer or explanation.
If you experience a difficulty or have a question, you might wish to look here first before you
contact your facilitator or the webmaster.
